101 in 1001| Saadia Me*Chel Photography

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

I realize in life that there are a plethora of things I want to do and accomplish. Sometimes I’ll throw out a completely random desire of mine and forget it as soon as I say it. I suppose that is part of the problem of not writing things down. It seems when you write things down you are more accountable to it, more likely to accomplish it. All that being said, I have decided to make a list of 101 things I desire to accomplish or achieve in 1001 days. The numbers are apparently completely arbitrary and I actually got the idea from Melissa Jill, an awesome wedding photographer based in Arizona. I am giving myself the freedom to change/add things as time progresses because as I grow and change… my desires in life grow and change. Additionally, these items are not numbered in any level of importance.

As it stands, here it is, my 101 in 1001

Atlanta Portrait Photography | Meet Stuart

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

The world of Twitter astounds me. It’s amazing how social media has completely changed the way we meet, interact, and relate to people. I am completely in awe of it all.

Stuart and I met through Twitter only to find out later that we actually attend the same school. Go figure! A couple of tweets and blog reads later I feel like I know him. Stuart is a phenomenal writer tackling issues ranging from race to religion and… everything in between. He is very candid, open, and honest in his writing which is something I can respect. He states on his Twitter that he’s “a writer committed to articulating the Truth to address the issues of today’s society & facilitate dialogue about race, religion & relationships.” Well put Mr. Stuart!

We spent a few hours around Atlantic Station on Sunday snapping a few pictures. Here is a little teaser. More coming soon.

Photoshoot at Piedmont Park Part Deux | Atlanta Portrait Photography

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

The photoshoot at Piedmont Park wasn’t all about fashion. We also took some time out to do some lifestyle portraits which is what I am more accustomed to photographing. It was a beautiful day, with gorgeous light. I was in heaven! Enjoy!

Photoshoot at Piedmont Park | Atlanta Portrait & Fashion Photographer

Monday, April 12th, 2010

I had the privilege of attending a photoshoot yesterday with Walter Maurice. Thank you so much for inviting me to come out and shoot with you for the day Walter! It was my first fashion shoot and I enjoyed it immensely. We had great light, great models, and an overall good time. I had no clue I was interested in shooting fashion but it’s definitely something I’ll look in to in the future. Here are a few photos from the day. More to come later…

One Man’s Junk is Another Man’s Treasure by Saadia Me*Chel

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Ohyaou!

I have been inspired by everything lately… songs, architecture, other art forms, nature, etc. As the photography wheels continue to spin in my head throughout the day, I am constantly visualizing different compositions; ffiguring out how I can utilize certain things to create art. I had such an experience the other day while I was on my way home. I drove past my neighbors house, noticing they had placed a bench on the side of the street to be discarded as trash. As soon as I saw it, the creative wheels in my head began to spin. “Hmmm… that would be good in photographs.” I thought as I drove past the house. Upon arriving home, I sat in the driveway contemplating if I should go back and get the bench. I reasoned that I needed to because I figured I would regret it later. So… with some help from my mother, we picked up the bench and brought it home. It needs a little TLC but once I’m done creating the vision for it that I see in my head, I will have an awesome prop for upcoming shoots. I’m so excited! Here are some before pictures… check back later for the after.

Children Make Me Smile by Saadia Me*Chel | Atlanta Portrait Photography

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

Ohayou gozaimasu!

What  is it that makes you smile? For me, one of the things, is children. I’m surrounded by them throughout the day and they make wonderful, albeit sometimes challenging, models. However, their smiling faces and carefree demeanor is infectious! They make me smile in utter bliss! I would be hard pressed to be sad surrounded by the children I see everyday. During a afternoon of play, he stopped and smiled for me! Glad I had my camera ready!!! Every time I look at this picture… I smile :-)

Happy Easter! make sure you smile sometime today!
