Welcome!

I am an Atlanta based, wedding photographer but more importantly I am an artist. I believe that there is beauty in everything and that life, itself, is beautiful in all of its uncertainty. My camera serves as a powerful tool, allowing me to express my creativity in amazing, sometimes unconventional ways. I am able to use the medium of photography to capture the magnificence and beauty of the world as well as the people in it. I look forward to meeting you, reading your comments, and sharing my work with you. Thanks so much for stopping by to visit. I hope you come back soon and often! Moments Like This Make It All Worth It by Saadia Me’Chel

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Honestly, I must say that I question myself as photographer sometimes. I wonder if I am good enough (whatever that means anyway). Then something amazing happens… a moment happens and everything becomes worth it and I realize that this is what I was meant to do. While driving to El Paso with my family, I snapped this picture from the back seat of our car. I definitely don’t see things like this in Atlanta so… I thought I’d share with the blogosphere. Stay tuned for a post about my drive across country to El Paso.

#45 Have my portrait taken by Ross Oscar Knight

Friday, May 28th, 2010

A couple of weeks ago I began composing my 101 in 1001 and I must say that I haven’t done much movement in the direction of accomplishing any of said goals (not to mention that the list isn’t even finished yet!). However, as my 25th birthday rapidly approaches, I figured this was a good opportunity to fulfill one of the things on my list. I contacted Ross Oscar Knight to see if he would take some portraits of me in celebration of my 25th birthday. He was more than happy to oblige and on a late Monday afternoon… I had my portrait taken by Mr. Knight himself. Thanks Ross… these pictures are amazing but I didn’t expect anything less :-)

Atlanta Engagment Photography: Jo & Tae

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Their love is one that goes without saying. As they shared inside jokes and she smiled at him softly, I could feel the love that permeated between them. Some people just work togther, they fit with each other perfectly; Jo & Tae have this kind of love. They ebb and flow with each other, manuvering together in perfect sync. It was my honor and pleasure to spend a couple of hours with them on a beautiful afternoon. Although, I hit my head pretty hard during their shoot, it didn’t stop me or these guys from capturing their love. Jo & Tae are getting married in October and I’m sure that anyone fortunate to be at the ceremony will be able to witness true love at its finest…

Concrete Jungle… by Saadia Me*Chel

New York is like no place I’ve ever been to. It is just like it seems on TV and in the movies. The streets are filled with people and buildings surround you wherever you go. I feel like the city swallowed me up whole! I only had a limited amount of time to experience the city (I only got to see Manhattan! lol) so I definitely plan on taking another trip because there are so many things I want to do in the city i.e see the Statue of Liberty, watch a show on Broadway, and take a carriage ride through Central Park.

However, I appareciate my brief introduction to NYC. I will see you again soon! Next time around I won’t be so afraid of your bustling streets and city lights…

Everything there is so larger than life!

Broadway! I’ll be seeing a play on my next visit

I must admit I was too scared to ride the Subway but… I did take a picture of one of the signs :-)

Central Park! This place is massive…

Love this car and love this picture I took at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa)

Lito Sy Workshop | Newark, NJ Workshop

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Hola!!!

I’ve been in Newark, NJ for the last couple of days learning and growing in my skills as a photographer. Lito Sy is an award winning photographer from Manila, Philippines and I’ve had a blast soaking up all the knowledge he had to offer. I learned a lot about manual mode, compostion, post-production, and most importantly for me… white balance. Before, I was letting my camera decide how to set the white balance but after this weekend I will be manually adjusting my white balance (in camera) for my images. It’s good to finally know how to make the colors in my camera look how I see them with my eyes.  Here are a few shots from the workshop… enjoy!
