California Dreaming | Hollywood Boulevard & Griffith Observatory

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

When Chanelle arrived on Thursday, we wasted no time taking in the sights and sounds of LA. We started our day on Hollywood Boulevard which may be one of the most touristy places in LA but, if you have never been to LA before, you have to go check it out. The closer you get to the Chinese Theatre the crazier the scene becomes but it’s a fun and interesting place to be. Sorta reminds me of the streets of Manhattan with all the people buzzing about but at the same time it is very different from Manhattan as well, I mean after all… it is LA LA land. After our tour of Hollywood Blvd, we went to the Griffith Observatory to check out the amazing panoramic views and catch a show at the planetarium. It’s amazing all the things you can see in LA, as I mentioned before this city seems to be a proverbial melting pot and I love that!

They were setting up for the premiere of The Hangover II while we were on Hollywood Boulevard

We decided to visit Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum

Love me some JT :-)

Chanelle tried her hand at directing while I got in on the action and almost  lost my head lol

After the wax museum we decided to head to Griffith Observatory

Who doesn’t love an impromptu photo shoot?! Glad I have friends who understand my need to take pictures. Chanelle was nice enough to indulge me. If I lived in LA, I’m sure I’d be taking pictures at the Griffith quite often.

Stay tuned for more pictures from my trip to Cali!

California Dreaming | Santa Monica & Venice Beach in Black & White

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

My uncle was nice enough to show us around Santa Monica & Venice Beach. Even though the areas are fairly close to each other they are as different as night and day. It was interesting to see all the different people that inhabit these areas. I must say that Los Angeles is certainly a melting pot.

We started our tour of this area with a wonderful lunch at The Lobster. This place has A-MA-ZING food! I highly recommend it if you are ever in Santa Monica.

From there we walked to Venice Beach

There were quite a few of these “medical marijuana” spots on Venice Beach. It was very strange to me to see these.

California Dreaming | The Getty Museum & Pinkberry

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

My second day in LA I had two objectives: to visit the Getty Museum and to find Pinkberry. I’m happy to say that I accomplished both tasks although… I did get a little lost in the process and I probably made a few LA drivers pretty upset (sorry LA drivers!) Overall, I had a great time today. The Getty is absolutely amazing and Pinkberry is frozen goodness in a little cup. Too bad there aren’t any in GA. Here are some pictures from my day. Enjoy!

I love, love, LOVE the architecture of the museum. It’s a work of art in itself.

This painting really moved me. This photograph certainly doesn’t do it any justice.

Taking a self-portrait INSIDE the museum lol This mirror was actually part of the exhibit :-P

The tour guide at the museum

YAY to me finding Pinkberry!

Most delicious frozen yogurt I have EVER had. I definitely will be going back before the week is over.

Atlanta “Love Session” Photography | Bridget & Andrew

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

For the past couple of months these two love birds have had to maintain a long distance relationship. However, that has all changed now that Bridget has moved to where her beau, now calls home.  I was fortunate enough to do a “love session” for these two before they embark on another milestone in their relationship. Their love was evident as we walked around the park and snapped some photos. I had a blast photographing you guys and by the end of the session it seemed like we were long lost friends. Best of luck in your future endeavors and if I’m ever in Austin, I’ll be sure to look you guys up!

Had to get a picture of the “bro fist” :-)
