Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

I had the honor of second shooting a wedding last Saturday with my friend Josh. In keeping with my whole “beautiful bride theme” here is a picture of the beautiful Mrs. Obumba. Raquel you were absolutely stunning! I wish you and Caleb nothing but the best! :-)

Beautiful Brides

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

To me, there are very few things more beautiful than a bride on her wedding day. Their happiness radiates through their entire being. In that moment, when they are all dressed up, hair and makeup done, knowing they are about to marry the man of their dreams… their beauty shines through. I feel blessed that I am able to capture these women as they celebrate a tremendous milestone in their lives. To all the beautiful brides that I have met since I’ve started on this journey… congratulations, I wish you all the happines this world has to offer.

Touch the Sky

We are only limited by how far we are willing to dream. Me personally… the sky’s the limit :-)

Walking on a Dream

Thursday, August 11th, 2011

They say the best way to learn is by doing.  I do not profess to be a Photoshop master and everything I know about photoshop is from the World Wide Web. There is a plethora information on the Internet just waiting to be tap into. When I have a down moment or some free time, I like to do Photoshop tutorials in order to improve my skills. If you are looking for Photoshop tutorials just type “photoshop tutorials” in any search engine and get to learning. Here is the end result from today’s Photoshop lesson. I think I did a good job. What do you guys think?

Kisses + Disses: Spam & Zendaya

Sunday, August 7th, 2011

We watch a lot of Disney Channel in my house. I would say it’s because I have a little sister but secretly… I actually like watching the Disney Channel. I’ve been watching the channel since I was a tween myself and I guess it’s just stuck with me throughout the years. Anywho, this leads me to another installment of Kisses & Disses.

Disses

Spam – I hate to even check my email anymore. It’s become an epidemic in my inbox.

iPhone – Don’t get me wrong… I love my iPhone but I’ve dropped it so many times that it’s severely cracked and as a result, it’s diffuclt to see the screen and it has been malfunctioning :-( This leads to my next diss…

Apple – Ummm… can you come out with the iPhone 5 already? I need a new phone. Quit teasing us already!

Kisses

Zendaya – She stars on the top rated show on Disney Channel right now (Shake it Up) and I can see big things happening for this girl in the future. She’s the main reason I watch that show. Check out the video below. (she’s the black girl in the video in case you were wondering)

Moshe and Eddie Brakha – I first discovered this father son duo on an episode of America’s Top Model. I recently re-discovered them again and remembered why I’m in LOVE with their photographs. Check their website out here.

Spotify – Imagine any song you ever wanted to listen at your fingertips… that my friends is Spotify. I’ve been jamming out ever since I downloaded it.

My Photography Bucket List

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

I was looking at Alex Beadon’s blog today and she posted about a photography bucket list. Now, I have something similar with my 101 in 1001 but a bucket list, is a little different in that they are goals that you want to accomplish within your lifetime. I think this is such a great idea because I am a firm believer that if you can dream it, you can achieve it so I’m going to dream so big that the sky cannot contain me. You are only limited by the extent to which you are willing dream. So without further ado here is my bucket list:

1.) Open a photography studio in Los Angeles, CA

2.) Photograph someone famous

3.) Get one of my pictures on the “explore” page on Flickr

4.) Travel across Europe (England, Italy, Spain, France, etc) documenting with photographs

5.) Have a coffee table book of my photographs published

6.) Start and complete my photography project for a cause that really speaks to me

7.) Travel to Haiti, photograph, then sell my pictures to help with the rebuilding  & restoration efforts

8.) Get one of my images professionally mounted

9.) Have a shoot featured on Ben Trovato’s blog

10.) Complete a 365 Project

11.) I’m going to have my pictures in a fashion magazine someday… Vogue maybe? :-)

12.) Get one of my pictures professionally mounted

13.) Be a guest photographer on America’s Next Top Model (haha… I love Tyra Banks)

14.) Photograph Japan; it’s people, culture, and architecture)

15.) Complete a stylized shoot I’ve been dreaming about for ages

16.) Have my picture taken by Moshe Brakha

17.) Host a photography workshop

18.) Have property in Puerto Rico so I can shoot destination weddings for half the year

19.) Start and complete my secret portrait series

20.) Shoot an album cover

21.) Collaborate with a photography I admire on a photoshoot

22.) Have one of my photos on the “popular” page of 500px

23.) Shoot at a waterfall in Hawaii

24.) Shoot  a stylized shoot in Australia, with kangaroos! :-)

25.) Start a street photography project

I’m sure this list will change as time goes on. Most likely I will be adding stuff to it. These were just the things I could think of off the top of my head. Some of these will be more difficult to achieve than others but I don’t believe that any of them are impossible. With a dream and a lot of faith in my heavenly Father, I can have everything I want and even more.

Do you have a photography bucket list? If you don’t, maybe you should make one. Also, a bucket list isn’t limited to just photography, you can make one for anything. So… if you don’t have one… make one and share it with me here.

My Inner Model

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

I think one reason I fell in love with photography is because I really like having my picture taken. If I was taller, I probably would be a model. Unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with height so the next best thing is to step behind the camera and take pictures of others. I also believe that the “model in me” is why I’m more drawn to fashion photography. I love the creativity that fashion photography often invokes and hopefully, someday, I can be taking pictures for Vogue. Until then, I’m gonna take it one day at a time and learn all that I can so that one day my images can grace the covers of magazine.

Atlanta Wedding Photography | Cristina and Danny

Monday, August 1st, 2011

“Are you nervous?” I asked as I began snapping pictures. “A little…” she admitted “but I’m more excited to be marrying my best friend!” From t
hen on Cristina could not keep a smile off her face, she was radiating with the glow of someone who was about to marry the love of her life. There was no lack of emotion on Cristina and Danny’s big day. Even I got teary eyed a few times. Thanks to Mose for letting tagalong as your second shooter for the day. I felt truly blessed to be there to witness their love.

~Saadia Me*Chel

I can certainly appreciate a girl who does her own wedding makeup. Kudos to you Cristina! :-)

The First Look

Cristina you are gorgeous!

Danny and Cristina are a good looking couple. They both turned on their inner “model.”

Quick makeup fix before the ceremony

Danny was very emotional when he saw Cristina walking down the aisle. This is proof that if you choose to have a first look it doesn’t take away from the emotion during the ceremony.

Their vows were very touching. Everyone was crying… including me.

You may kiss the bride!

Mr.& Mrs. Danny Ramos!
