Drama in Sepia…

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Hola!

I must admit and be completely honest that I wasn’t blown away by these pictures when I took them back in May. They just didn’t really do much for me so I just let them sit on my hard drive never to be seen by anyone. Furthermore, I was really disappointed that I had once again taken what I considered to be a “bad” picture (I am my own worst critic and a bit of a perfectionist).

Well… the other day I was looking through my pictures and I stumbled across these images. I don’t know if it was the time spent away from them or me developing a better eye as a photographer but I saw something amazing in them. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them. So I applied my custom sepia toning and marveled at how much I LOVE these pictures now. I love the lighting and the mood that these invoke. There is a certain air of drama to them.

What do you think?

Atlanta Wedding Photography | Charles and Neri

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

I had the distinct pleasure of being able to second shoot with Ross Knight awhile back. It was my first time (hopefully not my last) second shooting and I must say I learned quite a bit. It was good to see Ross at work and the experience help to dissipate some of the anxiety I had about shooting a wedding myself.

Although, it was a hot day in GA we managed to stay cool while we snapped pictures at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. The property was beautiful to shoot at. Thank you for letting me tag along for the day Ross. Here are a few pictures from the day. Enjoy!

Lito Sy Workshop | Newark, NJ Workshop

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Hola!!!

I’ve been in Newark, NJ for the last couple of days learning and growing in my skills as a photographer. Lito Sy is an award winning photographer from Manila, Philippines and I’ve had a blast soaking up all the knowledge he had to offer. I learned a lot about manual mode, compostion, post-production, and most importantly for me… white balance. Before, I was letting my camera decide how to set the white balance but after this weekend I will be manually adjusting my white balance (in camera) for my images. It’s good to finally know how to make the colors in my camera look how I see them with my eyes.  Here are a few shots from the workshop… enjoy!

Atlanta Wedding Photography | Charles + Kenisha = Married

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

I have known Charles for a very long time (since elementary school!). On a cool fall day, he and Kenisha exchanged vows in front of their friends and family. Although the day was cool, it could not squelch the warmth that surrounded the ceremony and the couple. Love was definitely in the air! I will be doing a shoot with Mr. & Mrs. Parker in the near future but until then… here are a few photos from their wedding day.

Atlanta Photography | Bridal Session: Dr. Mrs. Knight

Monday, March 15th, 2010

Her beauty illuminated the space. “Wow, she is gorgeous” I thought. I introduced myself and, after some conversation, realized that her beauty is only matched by a gentle soul. As she talked about breast cancer research, her husband, and wearing a pink ribbon everyday in honor of her mother, I had my camera ready to capture the essence of an amazing woman.

It was a pleasure meeting and photographing you Dr. Mrs. Knight. You and your husband (Ross Knight) have touched my life in an unimaginable way.

Since things are much better with a picture. Here is a photo I recently took of Ross Knight and his lovely wife Brandi. Ross is an exceptional photographer and I’m happy that he let me photograph him and his wife for the day.
